Climate-related Disclosure with GRI standards
The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) stands as one of the most prevalent sustainability disclosure frameworks globally, serving as the common language for organisations to communicate their sustainability impacts. It offers detailed guidance on reporting principles, materiality, impact, and disclosures. This standard is particularly popular among Hong Kong companies for publishing their sustainability/ESG reports. Although GRI provides comprehensive guidance, there is a growing emphasis on standards or requirements that focus on climate-related risks and opportunities, as well as financial impacts.
In light of these developments, it is increasingly crucial for professionals in Hong Kong to stay informed about GRI and other climate-related disclosure standards. To address this need, the Green Council has organised a training workshop designed to give professionals the chance to immerse themselves in the world of sustainability/ESG reporting and discover how to effectively implement these practices within their organisations.

Introduction to Carbon Offset for achieving Net Zero
The adoption of carbon offsetting practices by organisations in Hong Kong has been limited thus far, the landscape is rapidly changing. Many organisations worldwide have committed to achieving net zero targets, they were increasingly recognising the importance of offsetting their carbon emissions to achieve their sustainability goals and contribute to mitigating climate change. This growing demand was evident in regions like Europe, North America, and Mainland China, where carbon offsetting had gained popularity.
Considering these developments, it has become increasingly important for professionals in Hong Kong to stay ahead of the trend and gain an understanding of carbon offsetting. Green Council has organised this training workshop to let professionals to have the opportunity to dive into the world of carbon offsetting, explore its benefits, and learn how it can be effectively implemented within your organisation.

Transforming Business Models for Circular Economy
HKSAR Government has committed to establish circular economy, and to achieve waste reduction, resources circulation and zero landfill for achieving climate goal. In line with this goal, Green Council is organising an exclusive interactive training workshop aimed at professionals from environmental, waste management, engineering, building, and construction management backgrounds. The workshop will adopt tools for participants to link the causes and effects of climate change and to apply the principles of circular economy for transforming those linear business models. By integrating the principles of circular economy, organisations can contribute to resource circularity in Hong Kong, support re-industrialisation, and strengthen downstream recovery, recycling, and waste-to-resources capabilities.
